Alright guys, i've not made a thread in a while so i thought i would post one that could interest the techies out there.

I'm currently assisting a friend in building his new pc, the one he's using at the moment is outdated and lacks the ability to play higher-end games.

We have a budget of around £500 - £600.

The current components we've got so far in building this machine include:

ASROCK M3A770DE 770 Socket AM3 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/174597 (Already purchased, a year ago or so)

AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0GHz Socket AM3
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/172684 -£119.84

Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/166785 - £79.99

Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Soundcard
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/121761 - £38.38 (Cheap and cheerful)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now to the point
The title of the thread says it all really, what ATI graphics card would you recommend for crossfiring in this system? Taking into account the budget and the fact we still need to purchase other components, hard drive, OS disk etc.

I'm looking for a good priced card that would be purchased twice and give my friend a high quality gaming performance.

All responses would help greatly. Please include a link to the card and price if you can, cheers. :D

In all honesty you will be better off in the long run if you buy 1 powerful card now and then eventually getting a second card. SLI/Crossfire is not as good as its cracked up to be. you only get about 50% performance boost and unless your system is 64bit you wont be getting 100% memory usage either. Trust me i had quad sli and it had to be on a 64bit system otherwise it could handle the 4gb graphics ram and 4gb system Ram. it could only manage up to 3gb total something had to be lost.

Yeah i was saying to him he'd be better starting off with one but because it's his first built pc and all he wants the "oh i've got duel graphics cards" feeling i guess.
But he's okay with one really good card, any suggestions?
